Small U.S. businesses aren't required to provide paid time off (PTO), but many choose to offer it to boost morale and productivity. Here's a summary of PTO statistics:
**Average Vacation Days:**
- U.S. workers get an average of 11 paid vacation days per year.
- This increases to 15 days after five years, 17 days after ten years, and 20 days after twenty years of service.
**Sick Leave:**
- Full-time workers get eight days, part-time six days, union workers ten days, and nonunion workers seven days per year.
**Paid Holidays:**
- The average U.S. employee gets 7.6 paid holidays annually.
